March Campout at Camp Durant

Posted on Feb 27 2010 - 9:40pm

Scouts,

The March camping trip will have us down at Camp Durant in Carthage, NC.

There will be a short (<5 miles) bicycling trip.  Each scout will need to bring a bicycle, helmet and shoes for bicycling. If anyone has extra bicycles they may be needed by a fellow scout. If you don't have a bicycle contact Mr. Bergfors or Mr Kibbe so we can help find one for you. The bicycling will be on the dirt roads in Camp Durant so a bicycle that can handle riding on dirt, gravel and some sand will work best.

Spring District Camporee

Posted on Feb 27 2010 - 9:39pm
Scouts;
This is a camporee you probably do not want to miss, as I have been talking with counsel and this is going to be one of the best camporees we have had in a long time.  If you have had any hesitation in attending this camporee, give it another thought, as I have been told they are going all out for this one.

February Orienteering Trip - Information & Permission Form

Posted on Feb 16 2010 - 4:21pm

Dear Scouts and Parents,

The February campout takes us back to Camp Campbell for a weekend of orienteering (compass and map reading), backpacking, astronomy and other scout fun.  This is a backpacking weekend, however, the trail length will be less than 5 miles.  Scouts need to pack and carry everything they need, including tent, clothing and food.  Pack for cold and wet conditions, but be sure to keep your pack weight down to a minimum (target 25% of body mass or less).
